This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit thesamafestival.com, join our community, or buy a ticket, and how we use it. We process personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

1. What we collect

When you buy a ticket (through our ticketing partner, Zbooni): your name, email address, phone number, the tickets you bought, the price paid, any promo code used, and the date of purchase. Payment card details are processed by the ticketing and payment provider and are never stored by SAMĀ.
At the gate: the name on your ticket is checked against photo ID. We do not copy or store your ID.
When you join our WhatsApp community or mailing list: your phone number or email address and the fact that you joined.
When you visit our website: standard technical data (IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, referring site) and, where you arrived from a link we shared, the campaign tags on that link. We use cookies and the Meta Pixel for this — see section 5.
At the event: photographs and video in which you may appear (see the Ticket Terms at thesamafestival.com/terms, section 9).

2. Why we use it

To sell and deliver tickets, run entry on the day, and meet the conditions of the event permit.
To answer your questions and handle transfers, complaints and refunds.
To understand which of our channels people find us through, so we spend less on advertising and more on the event.
To tell you about future SAMĀ events — only if you have joined our community or opted in, and you can leave at any time.
To keep the event safe and meet our legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

Our ticketing and payment partner (Zbooni) to process orders and payments.
Our guest-list/check-in provider to scan tickets at the gate.
Meta (Facebook/Instagram) receives technical event data from the Meta Pixel on our website (page views and ticket-link clicks) so that we can measure and target our advertising. This data is pseudonymous; we do not send Meta your name or ticket details.
Authorities, where the event permit or the law requires it.
Our team members and contractors who need it to run the event, under confidentiality.

We do not sell personal data.

4. How long we keep it

Ticket and order records: as long as needed for the event and for our legal, tax and permit obligations. Community and mailing-list details: until you leave. Website analytics: up to 90 days on your device; aggregated thereafter.

5. Cookies and the Meta Pixel

Our website uses essential cookies (to make the site work) and the Meta Pixel (to measure visits and ticket-link clicks and to improve our advertising). We also store, on your device for up to 90 days, the campaign tag from the link you arrived on, so that we know which channel brought you. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

6. Your rights

Under UAE law you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, object to marketing, and withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent. Email love@thesamafestival.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the UAE Data Office.

7. Children

Under-12s attend free with a registered pass and an accompanying adult. We collect a child's name only for the pass and safety headcount, and only from the accompanying adult.

8. Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change. The date below tells you when it was last revised.
