These Terms apply to every ticket bought for the Event, through any official channel. By completing a purchase you confirm that you have read and accept them. Please read Section 4 (No Refunds), Section 5 (Transfers & Resale) and Section 6 (Cancellation, Postponement & Force Majeure) with particular care.
1. Tickets and official sellers
1.1 Tickets are sold only through SAMĀ's official channels: thesamafestival.com, our Zbooni store, our WhatsApp community links, and any DET-approved ticket seller we name. Tickets from any other source may be refused.
1.2 A ticket is a revocable licence to attend the Event on the stated date, subject to these Terms and to the Event permit conditions. It is not a guarantee of any specific artist, act, set time, facility or experience.
1.3 Prices are in AED and include 5% VAT unless stated otherwise. Platform, payment and service fees charged at checkout are disclosed before you pay and, where charged by a third party, are non-refundable in all cases (see 4.4).
1.4 You must be 18 or over to buy a ticket. Youth (12–17) tickets require an accompanying adult ticket-holder; children under 12 enter free with a registered child pass and an accompanying adult.
2. Your ticket
2.1 Each ticket is issued to a named holder and carries a unique code. Present the code (on your phone or printed) with photo ID matching the name on the ticket. We may refuse entry where the name and ID do not match and the ticket has not been transferred under Section 5.
2.2 Keep your code private. Tickets are scanned once; the first valid scan gains entry. We are not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen, duplicated or shared.
2.3 We may issue replacement codes at our discretion and may charge a reasonable administration fee.
3. Entry and conduct
3.1 Gates open at the advertised time. Late entry is permitted while the Event is running; no refund or discount is given for late arrival, early departure or missed acts.
3.2 Right of admission is reserved. We may refuse entry or remove any person who, in our reasonable opinion: is intoxicated; behaves in a dangerous, abusive, discriminatory or disruptive manner; breaches these Terms or the venue rules; or presents a risk to themselves or others. No refund is due in these cases.
3.3 You agree to reasonable searches of persons, bags and vehicles on entry and inside the venue, and to follow the directions of SAMĀ staff, security and the emergency services.
3.4 The Event is alcohol-free. Alcohol, illegal substances, glass, weapons, fireworks, drones, professional recording equipment, and outside food and drink for resale are prohibited. Prohibited items will be confiscated without compensation.
3.5 The venue is a natural desert reserve. You must follow reserve rules, stay within the marked Event area, use designated paths and car parks, not disturb wildlife or vegetation, and take all litter with you or use the bins provided.
3.6 Camping, car passes, market stalls and any add-ons are separate products with their own conditions, which we will publish with those products.
4. No refunds
4.1 All ticket sales are final. We do not refund or exchange tickets for change of mind, inability to attend, travel or visa problems, illness, late arrival, early departure, weather that does not stop the Event, or dissatisfaction with any part of the Event.
4.2 The line-up and programme may change. Artists, facilitators and set times are subject to alteration without notice. A change of artist, however significant, does not entitle you to a refund.
4.3 If you cannot attend, your remedy is to transfer or resell your ticket under Section 5.
4.4 Where a refund is due under Section 6, third-party fees (ticketing platform, payment gateway, bank charges) are non-refundable because they are not received by SAMĀ. These fees are shown at checkout.
4.5 Nothing in this Section removes any right you have under UAE Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 that cannot be excluded by contract.
5. Transfers and resale — permitted
5.1 You may transfer your ticket to another person, or sell it on, provided the transfer is completed through SAMĀ's official transfer process (email to love@thesamafestival.com with the order number, your ID and the new holder's full name and contact details) no later than 48 hours before gates open. We will re-issue the ticket in the new holder's name. There is no charge for the first transfer of a ticket; we may charge a reasonable administration fee for subsequent transfers.
5.2 Tickets transferred outside the official process are not recognised, and entry may be refused to both the original and the new holder.
5.3 Tickets may not be resold for more than their original face value plus any transfer fee. SAMĀ may cancel, without refund, any ticket it reasonably believes has been resold above face value or through unauthorised platforms.
5.4 Tickets may not be used for competitions, promotions or commercial hospitality packages without SAMĀ's written consent.
6. Cancellation, postponement and force majeure
6.1 Cancellation by SAMĀ. If we cancel the Event for any reason other than force majeure, you will receive a full refund of the ticket face value (including VAT) to the original payment method within 30 days of the announcement, less non-refundable third-party fees under 4.4.
6.2 Postponement. If the Event is postponed, your ticket remains valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund of the face value (less 4.4 fees) within 14 days of the new date being announced; after that the ticket is treated as accepted for the new date.
6.3 Force majeure. "Force majeure" means an event beyond our reasonable control that makes holding the Event impossible or unlawful, including war, hostilities, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemic or pandemic, government or authority order (including refusal or withdrawal of the Event permit), extreme weather warnings, natural disaster, or failure of public infrastructure.
6.4 If force majeure means the Event cannot take place and cannot be postponed to a date before 6 February 2027, we will refund the ticket face value less the non-refundable third-party fees in 4.4 and less our documented, unrecoverable direct costs already incurred for the Event, capped at 25% of the face value, within 45 days. We will publish a summary of those costs.
6.5 If the Event starts and is stopped or shortened by force majeure, safety or an authority's instruction, no refund is due.
6.6 SAMĀ is not liable for any costs you incur in connection with the Event beyond the ticket price — including travel, accommodation and visas — in any of the situations in this Section.
7. Health, safety and assumption of risk
7.1 The Event takes place outdoors, at night, in a desert environment with uneven ground, open fire, loud amplified sound, strobe and laser lighting, and physical activities (dance, movement, breathwork). You attend at your own risk and confirm you are fit to do so. Consult a doctor before attending if you have a heart condition, epilepsy, respiratory condition, are pregnant, or have any concern.
7.2 Bring appropriate clothing for cold desert nights, water, and any personal medication. A first-aid point is on site; in an emergency call 998 (ambulance) or 999 (police).
7.3 Follow all instructions of staff. We may suspend or stop any part of the Event on safety grounds without refund.
8. Liability
8.1 To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, SAMĀ's total liability to you arising from the Event or these Terms is limited to the price you paid for your ticket.
8.2 We are not liable for loss, theft or damage to personal property or vehicles, or for indirect or consequential loss.
8.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UAE law.
9. Filming, photography and your image
9.1 The Event is filmed and photographed. By attending you consent to being recorded and to SAMĀ using recordings in which you appear, worldwide and without payment, for documenting and promoting SAMĀ. If you do not wish to appear, tell a member of staff and avoid marked filming areas.
9.2 Personal, non-commercial photography is welcome. Professional or commercial recording requires our written consent.
10. Your data
10.1 We collect the details you give at purchase (name, email, phone, ID for entry) to issue tickets, run the Event, meet permit requirements and, if you opt in, tell you about future SAMĀ events. We process personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (Personal Data Protection) and our Privacy Policy at thesamafestival.com/privacy. You may unsubscribe at any time.
10.2 Ticketing and payment are processed by our ticketing partner, whose own terms apply to payment processing.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, permit conditions or Event arrangements. Changes will not reduce refund rights for tickets already bought. The version in force at your purchase date applies to your ticket.
12. Governing law and disputes
12.1 These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai.
12.2 If you have a complaint, contact love@thesamafestival.com first; we will respond within 10 working days. You may also contact Dubai Consumer Rights (consumerrights.ae / 600 545 555). Any dispute not resolved amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the onshore courts of Dubai.
12.3 If any provision is held invalid, the rest remain in force.
